On 15 June 2017, the naming ceremony took place for a new multifunctional icebreaking standby vessel (IBSBV) built for Sakhalin-2 project under a long-term agreement between Sakhalin Energy and SCF.
A unique operation of the crane boom replacement has been successfully completed on Sakhalin Energy’s Piltun-Astokhskoye-B (PA-B) offshore platform. For the first time in the world oil and gas industry practice a 48 meters long crane boom weighing 18 tonnes was installed on the operating offshore platform in adverse weather conditions.
The sessions on the Sakhalin: Man and the Sea project, implemented by the Sakhalin Oblast Public Organization Club Boomerang, with the support of Sakhalin Energy within the framework of the Social Initiatives Fund “Energy”, were completed. Practical trainings took place on the territory of the Vavai Lakes of the Sakhalin Region under the supervision of international experts for the rescue of marine mammals David Matilla and Brian Sharp.
The company became a winner in several nominations of top contests in the sphere of PR projects in Russia – “Best Corporate Media–2017” and “KonTEKst–2017”.
The carrier Cygnus Passage unberthed from the Prigorodnoye LNG Jetty in Aniva Bay to export the next-in-line LNG cargo to the Japanese customer. This shipment became the milestone for the Cygnus Passage – within the Sakhalin-2 project totally 30 mln cubic metres of LNG offloaded to the carrier.
Sakhalin Energy held a charity campaign devoted to the company’s birthday as a part of “Hurry up for the Good Deeds” programme. In the Year of Ecology employees chose “Green Sakhalin” fund as a beneficiary.
On 18 April Sakhalin Energy loaded crude oil cargo No. 500 to the Governor Farkhutdinov tanker from Prigorodnoye Production Complex.The tanker will deliver this cargo to the Japanese Petro-Diamond company, Sakhalin Energy long-term customer, to the port of Yeosu (South Korea).
